Simple Task is a collection of the first songs I wrote after moving from the New Mexico desert to the San Francisco Bay Area to begin life as a solo artist. Before that, I had spent years writing and performing as one half of the folk rock duo, The Meanderings. Starting over wasn't easy. I arrived in California without a single new song and had to build everything from the ground up.

Over the next eleven months, I played every show I could, explored a new city, and slowly found my footing. Those experiences became the songs on Simple Task. Looking back, they remind me of a season defined by uncertainty, persistence, and the decision to keep creating even when it would have been easier to quit.
